Hello all of you Petaloo fans out there in cyber world!! I am here today to share a little project I made using some little Wal-mart finds. My mom found them for me to use. Well they wasn't that pretty.. Nice.. But not that pretty.. So what is a girl to do?! PETALOO!! Yup! Petaloo makes every project wonderful and come to life. From the flowers to the trims and everything in between!! I enjoyed playing sooo much! Here is the project...

 

 

The little arrangement was just eggs and a few sprigs of plastic foliage. The base was just burlap.. Ahhh Burlap! Well Petaloo has gorgeous Burlap Blooms!! Oh and trims too!! I added a little bit of the cream Burlap trims with some of the Crochet Lace and trims in cream as well. This made the base look soooo much better! Love the delicate antique feel it has now. I also use the Lace trims in taupe on the top of the little bird house. This tied in well with the base. All that was left to do was remove those plastic sprigs and a egg and add my bird house. I did rearrange the burlap that was already in the arrangement, this was a perfect bed for my birdhouse to go on top of.. Next was the super fun part of adding in the gorgeous Burlap and Canvas blooms!! I couldn't forget the sweet little butterfly either! He was the cherry on top of a sweet spring arrangement! Spring shutter bug fever ~ Tammy

 Hello all of you wonderful Petaloo fans!! Tammy here today.. So are ya ready for Spring yet?! Well I am! I am sooo ready for the greens to reappear and the flowers to start blooming. Uggg all the gloom of winter and the cold needs to go away! LOL  The Spring weather always brings out the shutterbug in me. I wanted my project to kinda reflect that. :) I played with some GORGEOUS papers from G45 the "Mon Amour" collection and boy oh boy some YUMMY Petaloo flowers!! It was a blast! These 2 dance so well together!

 So what's a girl to do with so much Yumminess?! Hummm.. I dived in head first on a project I have wanted to do for a very long time! The vintage papers from G45 just begged me to do a vintage project.. Spring knocking on our doors, and the strong desire for some sunny warmth, and my camera well.. I decided to do a vintage camera.  I have wanted to do one of these since I seen one that Tara's place had done few years back. Time had never been on my side to give it a go. I had that time now, so off to work I went to make my version of a vintage camera.. I made the entire piece. No pre made box.. Just a bit of imagination, and some inspo from old cameras pics. My inspo was from a Vintage Ellison Kodak camera. It was meant to be compact a pocket style. It still had the bellows like even older cameras. Fit my idea to the T.. Here is my project..

 I sooo loved the elegant black and white papers from the G45 "Mon Amour" collection! I wanted to give my camera a elegant look to it. These worked well too! Also I could use any color of flowers too! This little dandy is loaded with Petaloo delights! The textures and soft colors well I was in heaven! The papers I used was the Precious One and the True love sheets. I was thrilled to see that this paper pack had 3 sheets of each! Yay!! Plenty to work with for this project! It even had sweet little butterflies so I could adorn my flowers and camera with them! How about another view?..

 Lots of surface area to plant my little flower garden of sorts! I used 6 different bloom styles. I love to arrange different sizes in my clusters. I used Textured Elements Burlap Blossoms 4pk Ivory and Textured Elements Burlap Blossoms 10pk. These gave me the vintage white/ivory from my paper. For my pop of color I used some Botanica Blooms 4pk in coral, Mixed Blossoms 8pk in antique peach and Mini Daisy Petites also in Antique Peach. Just a bit of black to mix in my flower cluster too I used the Black Forget me Nots. Oh i had lots left over too! I am glad, because I will also make a mini using this collection to go inside the Camera. Yup I even have a place for the mini Album to go.. Let me show you!

 I tried to get done, to get the mini done as well.. But sometimes things just don't work out like ya planned. A nasty cold slowed me down and a little bit of redos too. The bellows a kinda tricky at first.. It took a couple of tries to get them down, but now I think I could do them in my sleep! LOL Here are some close ups..

 Lots of Creative Embellishment chippies and Flying Unicorn adornments to bring the camera to life. From the decorative pieces to the lens. It was a blast to make! I hope you enjoyed, and have a chance to put a project together you have been putting off too! Happy that I waited. Because these papers and Petaloo blooms was perfect for this camera!

Let's get the fun started with our Petaloo Designer ... Tammy Henderson

 

Hello everyone!! Here today to share a super fun project!! This week we are teaming up with G45 for a Valentine's day hop. Weee all things I love!! Flowers from Petaloo Botanicas, and yummy G45 "Children's hour" collection!!

 Getting the fun started, I created a photo box complete with a mini album. This is a sweet treat for my Mom on Valentine's Day. It will have little special notes of love from all of us! Also of course pictures too! The pictures will come a little later, but I am gonna show you what it looks like without them. :)

 Have I ever told you how much I LOVE how Petaloo flowers perfectly coordinated with G45 papers?!!! LOL I think I have, but just incase I will say it again! They Dooo so nicely too!! So all I have to worry about is how I want it to look, not if they match or not. 1 step removed, I like that A LOT!! Now let's take a stroll through the whole project..

 

Here is the box itself.. I loved playing with G45's "Children's Hour" Collection. It was really easy to come up with all that I needed for this Valentine's day box. The papers work well with one another. I used all of the February and May, well just about.. LOL Little dash of lace and of course those gorgeous Botanicals, Berry Picks and Vintage Velvets. Wha La a Valentine's box was born!

 I had some red velvet red ribbon in my stash to match those gorgeous Vintage velvets too!! Score I say! :) Now let's take a peek inside..

Inside the Lid..

 I used the Vintage Hydrangea Velvets throughout the whole piece. They have so many in one package you won't have a problem running out to fast at all! Here is the Mini Album. I have a page for each of us. My Hubs and Me, My kiddo's each have a page and then My Brother and his wife. Lots of lovin going on in this box! :)

Wintery Fun ~ Tammy

Hello everyone! Hope your New Year is off to a great start!! I have a fun card to share with you today using Petaloo blooms, G45 "Children's Hour" collection and some of my fave chippies from Creative Embellishments!

It's easy as pie to put together projects, when everything coordinates perfectly! With Petaloo and Graphic 45 that is sooo the case! They match to the T! So half the battle of creating is over. The rest is a idea of what you want to create. I created a little wintery fun with a card. Not just any ole card I made my first easel card! I usually make bifold cards. But I really wanted to give a easel card a go. It was easy and fun to create! Plus more room to decorate too!! Win win in my book!! Here is my card..

 I used the yummy Botanica sugared bloom in royal blue, Botanica sugared minis in royal blue, Vintage Velvets in teal and Vintage Velvet Hydrangeas. These was so perfect to use with the January papers from the "Children's Hour" Collection by G45. I used a snowman stamp that I have had for A VERY LONG TIME! LOL I stamped some of the papers, to cut out, and piece together to make hat, gloves, and scarf for him. Then painted my snowflake chippies up to help create a wintry scene for him. All the blooms I added a touch of gesso and 13 Arts white glitter paint to go along with my wintery feel. Here are a couple of close ups..

Sooo much fun layering and creating this wintry fun scene!! I think I really like easel cards!!

A Christmas Star ~ Tammy

Hello everyone! Today I have a project to share with you a Star Christmas tree topper and a tute using Yummy Petaloo flowers!!

 We was asked to do a project around our Christmas traditions. For me, as I thought of that request the first thing that popped in my mind was my Nana's house and how we gather every year in a large living room at her house. This has always been where my most fondest memories growing up has been. Waiting on the loved ones to come in, and no matter how late it was we didn't start without them. We would always start out the evening with the reading of the birth of baby Jesus from a old bible that my Nana has had for many many years. After that then we would start with the little ones and pass out gifts. My Nana's little tree would have lots of gifts stacked under it and around it. The room would be packed with us all (very large family!) and gifts. Under that little Christmas tree would also hold a coconut. I am not sure why, but it was always there. My Uncle would always break it up after the gifts was cleared and we would share some of that fresh treat. Nana's tree has many of the same ornaments, and tree topper as it did when I was growing up. The tree topper was a star. The star to me and to many is a symbol of the birth of baby Jesus.  The one that lead the wise men to where he would be found in Bethlehem. I don't get to have Christmas with my Nana this year and that makes me sad. But she will have the best Christmas of all so that makes me feel a little better. In honor of her, I created a Christmas star tree topper, and included a tute as well. I hope you all enjoy!! :)

 

I happen to have on my hands a Darice Grapevine star on my hands from a Flying Unicorn KOM. It was a OTP that I didn't get to complete. 

This is How I made it.. Complete with little lites too! :)

 

First I gessoed the whole star front and back, to give it a snowy feel. I didn't deeply saturate it with the gesso, as I wanted some of the wood rustic look to shine through. Then I started my layering process. I started out with a Pack of Petaloo Botanica Berry clusters and the leaves from the Botanica Blooms in Sugared Mocha and the New Dogwood Vintage Velvets (love these!!). I glued the stems to the wood beneath. This is gonna be covered up. Just make sure you have them attached well.  Here is a photo of this layer..

Now I am ready for my next layers of blooms.. I used the white Botanica Poinsettias and the Sugared Botanica Blooms. Then added in a twine bow..

 

 

I added in another White Poinsettia and another Botanica sugared in Mocha. I am dancing them around to create my custer.. I also add in a another Dogwood bloom too. 

The last kiss on top is a larger size of the White Poinsettia on top. Covers up the last hole and completes the cluster..

After my glue is dry I turn it over and add in my lites. I got them from the Dollar Store. They have a little battery pack (no electric or risk of fire ;) ). Here is pics of how I attached them to the piece..

After this was glued down and the battery pack as well. I then started covering my cluster with mediums. First Gesso..

 

I wanted my piece to flow with the star beneath, adding in the gesso would tie that together.. Now I add in a bit of shimmer with 13 Arts white and silver paint..

 

You could stop here.. But I am a huge fan of blue.. So I added in a little misting to my White Poinsettias with a little spitz of 13 Arts Turquoise mist. 

Yup, I think I am happy now with the way it turned out. ;) Here is a couple more photos of the completed project..

Starting To Feel A Lot Like Christmas! ~ Tammy

Hello everyone!! Totally Excited to share some Christmas Cards and a Tag with you! Using G45's "Christmas Carol" Collection and Lush Petaloo blooms from the Holiday Collection!! I am telling ya you can totally have a Christmas Card fest with these two!! Put on some Christmas music (I love to listen to music when I am playing in my scraproom!!), and play the weekend away! Here is what I made for today's inspiration. 

Here is the first one..

This one was made using the Christmas Carol sheet. I LOVE to fussy cut!! Even though my card wasn't going to be huge I still wanted to use the image of Tiny Tim and his Dad Tim Cratchit on my card. Yes they do peep up a bit.. It's all good! If I was to put it in a envelope I could bend the top back. I also used the Seasonal sentiments sheet and Figgy Pudding sheet (post card). The quote is from the matching chipboard for this collection. I was thrilled to see the new Vintage Velvet Dogwood blooms to play with!! Let me tell you these are DELISH!! I used the Gold ones on this card along with Burgandy Sugared blooms, Sugared minis in Teal and Glitter Snowflake picks to pull the colors of the card together in my cluster. Here is a close up..

Here is the Tag made using the "Christmas Carol" Collection.

Using a Tim Holtz Tag die I cut out a tag from the Good Cheer sheet. Then layered a piece of the Seasonal Sentiment sheet, I had a piece left over from the Christmas Carol Sheet that I layed on top of that one down the center. I love the gorgeous stickers sheet that came with this collection and had to used the image of the lady reading. The image was small so to make it larger I used a Cheery Lynn Doily die actually 2 of them. I used the center of the Nautical Doily where I placed the center part of the sticker and the outside piece of the Felicity doily where I attached the outer rim of the sticker. Then layered them on top of each other and popped up the center piece with a small piece of cardboard. Adding the plate that was cut out when I cut my tag on top of the Merry Christmas sticker. Easy as pie! Now for my last card..

This one was really easy! I used the last bit of the Christmas Carol Sheet as my back piece. Layered a beautiful quote from the Figgy Pudding sheet ( I actually used this quote in my first card too) which was perfectly layered with color attached a bit of gauze, a fussy cut flower cluster and 3 Vintage velvet Poinsettias for my cluster on top.  Easy too!  Let's get the fun started with a TUTORIAL for a SNOWMAN from Petaloo DT member ... Tammy Henderson

 

Hello all of you Petaloo Fans out there in cyberland! We are teaming up with Canvas Corp this week! Whoot Whoot! I have a holiday project to share with you using Canvas Corp Burlap products and Petaloo flowers!!! I have also put together a bit of a how to make your own as well. Super excited about it too! Here is the project..

Well actually she is a snow woman! LOL A caroling snow woman.. But I went with snowman. She is a tall one too! Her height is over 16 inches tall! A bit of a challenge to fit in the details in the photo. No worries though. I have close ups too. I wanted to take you through my process on building her so you could make your own if you would like. So let's get started shall we?! Warning long post! 

 

First I started with a Canvas Corp Burlap bag that came in the collection sent to us to play with. I started out using a Crafters Workshop snowflake stencil and misted on some Tattered Angels mist in silver sugar let dry. Then went back over the stencil using gesso then let dry again. I removed the handles and tucked in the corners of the bag. Here are some photos of this process.

 

 

 After I had the bag covered with medium and dried completely. I then went around the top with a crop a dile, and punched holes, and threaded some jute through, so I would have a way to close the top around the head. I used a plastic bowl of pebbles that I had bought long ago to use as a weight so the body would stay up right. I placed this in the bottom center of my bag. Then I used the stuffing out of a old pillow that was torn and no longer in use to fill the bag with after I added in the bowl of pebbles. Here are photos of this process..

 

 Went shopping in my hubs closet for a pair of white sox (shhhh He will never miss them :) lol ) that I used one to make the head with. Stuffing in more stuffing in the bottom of the sox about half way. Tied a knot in the center and finished stuffing the rest of the way. Using a rubber band closed off the end. I used tacky glue to seal the edges of the sox flat laying the edges to hide the rubber band. Then placed the stuffed sox halfway leaving one stuffed part out of the bag and one in. I packed a little more stuffing around the inside piece and pulled the jute really tight and tied in a knot sealing off the bag so that only the top part of the stuffed sox stuck out.  Wha la Head and body! Here is a pic of what the finished sox piece looked like after stuffing it.

 Now I have a body and head I needed some arms. Went shopping outside for the perfect sticks for this part. Was easy to find some we had a storm come through the night before and there was plenty to choose from! LOL I matched up the sizes and placed them at each side of the stuffed bag to see where the holes for the arms would need to go. Using a xacto knife cut the seam a little to poke my stick through the hole and sealed with some tacky glue to lock them in ( the gluing came later as I didn't quite know how I wanted my arms to look). Here is a photo of this..

Time to work a bit on the face. The 2 eyes are small black buttons that I threaded through. The cheeks was done with pink chalk and the mouth is a strand of the burlap that I pulled out of a sheet of burlap. The nose was made of a little rectangle of canvas from a canvas sheet from Canvas Corp. Love all the cool sheets of colored burlap and canvas that they have! The nose was colored using mist in orange and a orange marker to add in a bit more color. Then I glued down one edge of the colored canvas and made a cone like shape and sealed together. I pushed in the edges so I would have a flat bottom to the cone and glued to the face. Here are a few pics of the nose process..

The face looked pretty good, but I needed a hat! So I grabbed a sheet of burlap that match the body and made a little sock hat.. This was easy as pie to make. I first pulled out about a inch of horizontal strands of burlap from the sheet. Then added glue to one edge going up and down from the loose strands part. Rolling over so the glue would glue the opposite side outer edge. At this point it kinda looks like a tube. I let the tacky glue dry well before moving on. After the tacky glue was dry I cuffed the end that I didn't have loose strands on, about a inch on the cuff part. Gathered the end that had the loose strands and tied a piece of jute around this end and tied in a bow. Finished the piece off with a bit of Petaloo trim in Ivory lace around the top part of the cuff. Wha la a hat! Here is a few photos of the hat process..

I added some more of the Wide Lace as a scarf around the neck and added a big bow to the center of the tied part. Big buttons was glued down the center of the body piece with a little bit of the twine through the holes of the buttons. Here is what she looks like plain and no frills.. Over look my messy desk please.. lol Creativity in process here! :)

 I thought the sticks looked like a song leaders hands of a choir and that is what made me think to make her a caroler. The sticks I did glue them last so I could shift to match whatever I wanted to do with them. So I made a song book out of a red sheet of burlap, some cardstock and some sheets of paper. Stamped the outside of the book with some Christmas stamps and snowflake swirls as borders. The inside of the song book was stamped with a music note stamp from Creative Embellishments and some Christmas song titles from my stash (CTMH).

Then the final touches of Yummy Petaloo Picks, Burlap Poinsettias in red and white. The white ones I misted with some Tattered Angels in Sheer Tangy lime. More Petaloo DIY Burlap flowers in Ivory and a butterfly that I also misted green. Final dressing was with Creative Embellishment snowflake chippies, Gesso and Aleene's true snow. For a wintery look to my caroling snow woman. Here is some close ups of the details to the finished piece..

I did add in a little more of the Jute for lips to look like she was singing. :)

 Let's get the fun started with a Christmas layout from DT member Tammy Henderson

Hi all of you Petaloo Fans out there! Here today to share a holiday layout with you using the fun and beautiful Simple Stories collection "Santa Claus and Company" Collection. Also using the Gorgeous Petaloo flowers that work Christmas magic with this fun paper!!

This paper Collection has Soooo Many fun things to use! Tags, Stickers, papers and letters galore!! Lots of fun playing with the Santa Claus and Company collection!!

It just so happens I have untouched Christmas pictures that needed to be scrapped from last year! I KNOW a whole year later!! Geez I couldn't believe that it happened either. This paper made me want to dig through that untouched stash of pics and create a layout!! I chose to do a mixed media LO. This paper can go in all kinds of directions! Here is the LO.

I didn't hold back on the Petaloo Blooms either!! Totally fun creating a Christmas cluster of blooms!! I used the Textured Elements Burlap Poinsettias both white and red. I wanted a touch of green so I added in the Burlap blossoms in pistachio. But wait!! I needed smaller flowers Botanica collection Sugared Red minis and a Pine cone and Berries pick! Wha la! A yummy cluster to adorn my LO. A little dab of Gesso and Aleens True snow to turn those yummy blooms into wintery Christmas cluster! I have a couple of close ups..

Easy to add details with all the cool pieces to the "Santa Claus and Company" Collection! Here is another close up!

The papers had a cool Christmas Tree made of strips.. That gave me the idea of the Mixed Media Christmas tree.. 

A pocket tag to jot down a bit of memories for my kiddos to read in years to come! The little Bells also have been decked out with a bit of Petaloo too! Just took some of the Small Trims Assortment Glitz all Red and made little bows for my bells. One last closeup..

I cut the 25 out of one sheet and added it over the top of the one that was already there. I ended up covering up the original one more than I wanted too. This actually worked out perfectly. Was sooo much easier to add the snow and gesso. Just a tip though. You may want to back with some cardstock to give it more of a backing. I did and it held up pretty well. Let's get the fun started with an adorable Fall project from Petaloo DT member Tammy Henderson...

Hi Petaloo fans! Here to share a cute little card with you today. Using the yummy Authentique "Nestled" collection and Gorgeous Petaloo blooms! 

 

When we recieved this paper with our design team box of yumminess, I seen a sheet in it that reminded me of owl eyes (observant sheet). I thought it would be a "hoot" to make one too, so I did! LOL Here is my card its a size A7..

 I think I used just about every sheet in some way from this collection. Either on my card or piecing together my owl. Mostly made using different punch shapes. The body I free handed on a piece of white cardstock. Very easy to do too. Just fold your paper in half and draw out your shape. That way your little ears matchup. The beak is also done by folding a piece when folded it was about a inch size square. Then I turned it on the angle a wha la a beak! The wings are actually left over pieces that was cut out and they worked perfectly as wings. The rest is just circle punches I had on hand of different sizes and a heart shape punch for the feet. Love adding in dimension to things. This was no different. I used foam and cardboard to layer everything together. So my owl wouldn't be flat, but blend nicely with my gorgeous Petaloo flowers that I used. How about some close ups?

I used some of my fave Petaloo blooms! I used a Sugared Big bloom in Mocha, Mixed Textured Mini blossoms, and a Spring Berry cluster (to fashion a branch for my little owl). Here is another close up..

 

Loads of fall fun playing with Authentiques "Nestled" collection and Petaloo blooms! They go hand in hand and match so perfectly together!

Story Go Round ~ Tammy

Hello all of you wonderful Petaloo fans out there in cyberland! Here today to share a project with you made with gorgeous Petaloo blooms! 

I have seen Gorgeous Merry Go Rounds on Pinterest and I have wanted to make one for a long time. I had some G45 "An Eerie Tale" papers on hand and of course they match Petaloo Flowers perfectly! So here was my chance to build said project! I made my own pattern. Mostly using empty ribbon rounds layered with larger circles to cover them and allow me to attach everything together. The center part is a empty toilet paper roll. Nice to recycle trash and create treasure! I made a "story go round". Kinda felt the play of the papers and intertwined them with the project. Here is My Project..

 

Here is the Front.. A little Witch on top to watch the children play below! Ooo But I think they spotted her and running round and round they go!

Back of Project... Gorgeous Petaloo Botanica Chantilly Velvet Hydrangeas in Violet and Mixed Blooms in Sienna adorn my piece. Such a perfect match!

 

How about a couple of close ups? Ooo do you see the witches winged friend trying to catch the little girl?! She is faster than he! Only happy endings in this little story!!

 

One more close up. This is of the maiden who has the magic to turn all evil to gorgeous blooms! :)
