Now let's see Kathy's wonderful Petaloo and Authentique creations.

Hello, Friends! It's a great week here at Petaloo because we're partying with Authentique. There is so much great inspiration for the upcoming holiday along with some fabulous prize packages that I know you'd love to get your crafty little fingers on!

Each design team member received Authentique's gorgeous Mysterious collection to play with. This collection is printed on heavyweight smooth cardstock and like all Authentique products, printed 100% in the USA! It's a nice mix of vintage cute and vintage spooky (but not creepy) images. I rode out Hurricane Matthew by creating some very fun projects to share with you here.

Jolly Halloween Easel Card

OK..so I love plaid...and this vintage orange plaid is too fabulous for words! I created this card with the 6x6 pad of Mysterious papers. Card makers like to work with smaller patterns, and the 6x6 pad has all the wonderful patterns found in the 12x12 papers reduced in size. My card is 5.5" square and makes great use of the sturdy matte cardstock stickers that come with the collection. I paired up some ghostly gray Petaloo Textured Blossoms and Textured Elements with the Fall Mix of Burlap Leaves here. The flowers were spritzed with just a hint of Tattered Angels Jack O Lantern Glimmer Mist.

 

The inside of the card uses more of the fabulous plaid paper along with some chit chat stickers and image stickers from the collection. I love that the chit chat stickers give you the opportunity to create custom sentiments!

You Put a Spell on Me Spooky Card

 

The black and white pages in this collection are perfectly spooky without being creepy. I created this 5x7 top fold card with 12x12 papers and fussy cut elements. My full moon was made by cutting black and white bat paper with a circle die, and inking with various yellow inks. I love the way it pops against the monochromatic background.

The black cat is fussy cut from one of the 12 x12 sheets as well. My bow cluster is topped with another Gray Textured Blossom and 2 mini gray textured blossoms.  How perfect is that color match?

Bats in your belfrey? No, they are inside this card though. I layered some 12x12 papers, fussy cut elements, and stickers to create a tag pocket where you can write ghostly greetings and maybe tuck in a little chocolate for extra fun.

Accordion Style Flip Album for your Mysterious Halloween Table

Every Halloween Party needs a little table decoration, and this clever accordion style flip fold album is a fun way to decorate. I paired up the 6x6 papers with a Sizzix die from Karen Burniston and lots of pretty Petaloo Posies. This photo shows the album when it is closed.

The real fun starts when you open it out for display!

 

And I decorated it on both sides so no one feels left out. Here's a closer look.

Hello Petaloo Fans and welcome to the Petaloo/Canvas Corp Blog Hop! I have chosen to do a 12 x 12 Canvas Corp Burlap Canvas…with Heritage photos of my dad. I find the earthy colors are perfect for a Heritage piece.

 

To start I did a bit of masking with a thick gesso on the Burlap Canvas. I also used a brush and added a bit of gesso around the border.

 

 

Next I added some splatters of the Mist and Gimmer Glam from Canvas Corp.

 

 

The DIY Sunflowers and Daisy Layers are also just misted. First I spray them with a bit of water so the color blends smoothly on the Petaloo DIY flowers. The Petaloo DIY flowers are so perfect…you can create what ever color  you like for your projects!

 

Behind the photos I added in a piece of darker canvas from Canvas Corp and a matting of paper from 7gypsies. The cute little cloths pins are also a Canvas Corp piece!  

 

 

To finish off the clusters I added in the DIY Burlap Pick and DIY Queen Annes Pick. I left those both white as I loved how they popped on the clusters.

Let's get the party started with our Petaloo DT member ... Ginny Nemchak

 

Hey there Peeps! Ginny here and  I'm dropping in to share the project I created for the Petaloo~Canvas Corp Brand ~Tattered Angels Blog Hop. This is a fabulous brand mashup!!! I started with the pretty patterned papers and altered the flowers using the Glimmer Mists. 

This little crate is chock full of sweet coordinating tags.

I added a sentiment cut apart to the front of the crate and layered on some gorgeous Petaloo flowers.  I left some of the DIY Flowers unaltered to lighten the arrangement. Pretty graphic ribbon and twine finish it off in style.

I left the tags in their natural state of kraft brown to accent the crate.

There are some additional flowers and pretty charm and tag hanging from the ring with a generous amount amount of ribbon.

The crate is lovely even with the tags removed.

Each tag has a similar layout to keep a consistent look throughout.
 Spacers between the layers help to add dimension and gives additional sturdiness.

The tag backs are finished with coordinating papers and leave plenty of room to add pictures and journaling.

Oh how I love to see these tags all together with so many gorgeous flowers!!!

I chose a few
Canvas Corp Brands ~ Black on Ivory papers
and pieces of burlap for the background
and colored then with dabs of
Tattered Angels Glimmer Mists
Dijon
Rusty Red
Safari Green
(and yes...you see a piece of chicken wire!!)

The focal point of my "memory book"
is the FABULOUS
DIY Medium Burlap Sunflower
I began by spritzing the entire flower
with water and began coloring
from light to dark!

First Layer ~ Dijon
Second Layer ~ Rusty Red
Third Layer ~ Camel Glimmer Glam

I separated the DIY Queen Annes.
I colored the "hairy" leaves with
Tattered Angels ~ Safari Green
and the 
Queen Annes with
Tattered Angels ~ Rusty Red.

I pulled apart the
DIY Burlap Picks.
I colored the leaves with
Tattered Angels ~ Safari Green
and inserted the "berries" randomly
in my floral cluster.

To finish it all off
I sprayed directly on 
(2) DIY Mini Mix x 8 blooms with
Tattered Angels ~ Dijon.

My "Memory Book" could be used as a 
Graduation Party ~ Guest Book
Graduation Day ~ Mini Album
or anything else you can think of!

Hello, Friends!  This week we are celebrating Dads & Grads in our blog hop with Canvas Corp Brands.  I love seeing all the happy graduation photos on Facebook, and they inspired me to create a pretty in pink graduation banner and matching mini album. 

 

Just for fun, I decided to go all shabby chic and girly with a pink & black color scheme. This banner would be darling at any girl's graduation party, whether she's graduating from Kindergarten or College.  I used Canvas Corp Brands Paper Banner Kit as my base, but cut the size down just a little so my banner would not be too big.

 

 

Ooh la la!  Just look at this gorgeous posy made with DIY Burlap Canvas layers from Petaloo! .  Isn't it spectacular?  I sprayed the individual layers with Tattered Angels Vintage Pink and Silver Sugar Mists, then gently heat dried them.  I actually kind of scrunched the petals during this process to give them even more shape.  Then I stitched my layers together, added a vintage velvet button to the center and voila!  A perfect color match for this pink and black graduation banner!

 

Custom clothespins?  Yes, please!  Just spray the ones that come in the banner kit with Tattered Angels Glimmer Mist!  Easy peasy!

 

Here's the mini album I made to match the banner.  It measures 4" x 5" and has a waterfall folio, gift card pocket and tag pocket inside. 

 

 

For the cover of this mini album, I sprayed the butterfly with Vintage Pink Tattered Angels Glimmer mist.  The flower petals were just lightly dipped into the mist that was left on the mat. Pink chevron ribbon was wrapped around the mini album and tied into a bow.  DIY Queen Anne's Picks  were dipped into Vintage Pink mist and tucked behind the tinted flower.  Metal corners were painted shabby white, and I added a little vintage clip to hold the waterfall pages inside the album closed.

 

 

There's a waterfall feature inside the top half of the album.  It's a great place to add pics of the proud grad and her family and friends. 

 

 

The bottom half of the mini album contains a pocket filled with tags that have been tied with cording from Canvas Corp.  These would be a great spot to have guests write their words of congratulations or advice.  And, there's room to tuck in  gift cards as well.
