Grad Bag and Tag with Petaloo DIY Collection

 

Hello Petaloo Fans. Today I have a gift bag and little tag to share. I have used flowers from the Do It Yourself Textured Burlap and Canvas collection. These flowers are so much fun to alter and add to your projects!

 

 

I used some Shimmerz mists to alter the DIY flowers on this project…it is to easy, just mist to the color your choice! I love this big bow made from pieces of canvas from Canvas Corp, and some Petaloo Trims …then I just added the DIY flowers on top.

 

 

I used the same flowers on the cute little bag tag…Burlap Butterflies and Blossoms, and the Mixed Textured Layers. The layers are super fun too..you can build your own flowers and there are many sizes in the package.

Graduation milestones by Cherry Nelson

Hello Petaloo Peeps!  Cherry here with my first ever design team post.  It is all about the "Grads" this time of year.  Our family is no exception. My son just graduated as valedictorian of his class this past weekend.  A wonderful but bittersweet milestone. With his graduation party we kept with a classic black/white theme.  I just love this color combo and think it is perfect for graduation projects.  I decided to make a card using this simple but effective combination. 

I used Papers from Canvas Corps.  They complimented the burlap daisies perfectly. 

 

I love playing with all the layers you can create with these blooms.  Instead of putting a stamen or button in the middle I decided to use one of the burlap picks.  I love all the dimension it added.  The picks added such a classic touch to this card!

From here I added a hand stamped sentiment and some black scrunched seam binding.  Other than that, a key was tucked into the bloom as a symbolic touch.  "the key to your future".

Hello Petaloo Fans and welcome to the Petaloo/Canvas Corp Blog Hop! I have chosen to do a 12 x 12 Canvas Corp Burlap Canvas…with Heritage photos of my dad. I find the earthy colors are perfect for a Heritage piece.

 

To start I did a bit of masking with a thick gesso on the Burlap Canvas. I also used a brush and added a bit of gesso around the border.

 

 

Next I added some splatters of the Mist and Gimmer Glam from Canvas Corp.

 

 

The DIY Sunflowers and Daisy Layers are also just misted. First I spray them with a bit of water so the color blends smoothly on the Petaloo DIY flowers. The Petaloo DIY flowers are so perfect…you can create what ever color  you like for your projects!

 

Behind the photos I added in a piece of darker canvas from Canvas Corp and a matting of paper from 7gypsies. The cute little cloths pins are also a Canvas Corp piece!  

 

 

To finish off the clusters I added in the DIY Burlap Pick and DIY Queen Annes Pick. I left those both white as I loved how they popped on the clusters.

Hey there Peeps! Ginny here and  I'm dropping in to share the project I created for the Petaloo~Canvas Corp Brand ~Tattered Angels Blog Hop. This is a fabulous brand mashup!!! I started with the pretty patterned papers and altered the flowers using the Glimmer Mists. 

This little crate is chock full of sweet coordinating tags.

I added a sentiment cut apart to the front of the crate and layered on some gorgeous Petaloo flowers.  I left some of the DIY Flowers unaltered to lighten the arrangement. Pretty graphic ribbon and twine finish it off in style.

I left the tags in their natural state of kraft brown to accent the crate.

There are some additional flowers and pretty charm and tag hanging from the ring with a generous amount amount of ribbon.

The crate is lovely even with the tags removed.

Each tag has a similar layout to keep a consistent look throughout.
 Spacers between the layers help to add dimension and gives additional sturdiness.

The tag backs are finished with coordinating papers and leave plenty of room to add pictures and journaling.

Oh how I love to see these tags all together with so many gorgeous flowers!!!

Hello, Friends!  This week we are celebrating Dads & Grads in our blog hop with Canvas Corp Brands.  I love seeing all the happy graduation photos on Facebook, and they inspired me to create a pretty in pink graduation banner and matching mini album. 

 

Just for fun, I decided to go all shabby chic and girly with a pink & black color scheme. This banner would be darling at any girl's graduation party, whether she's graduating from Kindergarten or College.  I used Canvas Corp Brands Paper Banner Kit as my base, but cut the size down just a little so my banner would not be too big.

 

 

Ooh la la!  Just look at this gorgeous posy made with DIY Burlap Canvas layers from Petaloo! .  Isn't it spectacular?  I sprayed the individual layers with Tattered Angels Vintage Pink and Silver Sugar Mists, then gently heat dried them.  I actually kind of scrunched the petals during this process to give them even more shape.  Then I stitched my layers together, added a vintage velvet button to the center and voila!  A perfect color match for this pink and black graduation banner!

 

Custom clothespins?  Yes, please!  Just spray the ones that come in the banner kit with Tattered Angels Glimmer Mist!  Easy peasy!

 

Here's the mini album I made to match the banner.  It measures 4" x 5" and has a waterfall folio, gift card pocket and tag pocket inside. 

 

 

For the cover of this mini album, I sprayed the butterfly with Vintage Pink Tattered Angels Glimmer mist.  The flower petals were just lightly dipped into the mist that was left on the mat. Pink chevron ribbon was wrapped around the mini album and tied into a bow.  DIY Queen Anne's Picks  were dipped into Vintage Pink mist and tucked behind the tinted flower.  Metal corners were painted shabby white, and I added a little vintage clip to hold the waterfall pages inside the album closed.

 

 

There's a waterfall feature inside the top half of the album.  It's a great place to add pics of the proud grad and her family and friends. 

 

 

The bottom half of the mini album contains a pocket filled with tags that have been tied with cording from Canvas Corp.  These would be a great spot to have guests write their words of congratulations or advice.  And, there's room to tuck in  gift cards as well.

What fun I had making this little scene here to celebrate Father's Day for my husband.  He's a real grease monkey as his hobby is building streetrods.  Now, the best thing about that is he can NEVER say a word about my scrappy spending habits because building streetrods is way more expensive!

So, I borrowed that cut little vintage gas tank from his miniature car collection and using a Canvas Corp 6 x 6 canvas; I "parked" an old car in a field of Petaloo blooms beside the tank!  The first step in creating my canvas was to paint the canvas with a thick coat of white gesso so that my mist and masking would be easier to apply.    After the gesso dried, I misted the canvas with both silver and suede Glimmer Mist.  Next came some stenciled on bricks.  Then the fun part, dying the flowers, adding the photo and the fun embellishments.

 

All the flowers I used are Petaloo DIY meaning that they are made especially for coloring as they all come white.  I used Tattered Angels Glimmer Mist to color them in fun shades of silver and red. These flowers are so easy to color and it's great that you can perfectly match your blooms to your project!

 

Canvas Corp makes a fun Paper Banner Kit and I used that to create my banner that I covered with Canvas Corp burlap.  Then I topped off each banner with strips of Canvas Corp paper and heat embossed gears.  I spelled out the name using Tattered Angels High Impact Paint. and sme really old foam stamps.  That is great paint, it worked great on the burlap.

MIY-O Valentines with Petaloo

What's MIY-O? You ask? It's my new catch phrase so you heard it here first! It means: Make It Your Own. Basically it's a DIY project, that you sort of take and existing item and make it your own. To show you what I mean, here are few Valentines candies I picked up at the market. .99-3.99 each. I used some of my favorite Petaloo trims and flowers and made gorgeous handmade gifts. I created some Snapguides to show you how easy they were to make!
