Hello, Friends! Welcome to day 2 of the Creative Embellishments/Petaloo International Blog Hop! Chipboard is a quick and easy way to add dimension, texture and visual interest to any project. I incorporated a Creative Embellishments chipboard flourish and title into this shabby chic "Generations" layout made with Graphic 45's Portrait of a Lady Collection.
To prepare my chipboard elements for this layout, I first painted them with a layer of Tattered Rose Distress Ink. When that layer had dried, I randomly covered the surface with Picket Fence Distress Crackle Paint. While the crackle paint was still damp, I sprinkled the chips with Stampendous Shabby Pink Embossing Enamel and heat embossed.
You can really see the wonderful texture this process added to the "generations" title in this close up photo.
I surrounded the framed focal image with this lovely flourish, Darjeeling Cream Anemones, Petite Pink Darjeeling Blossoms and Mini Pink Botanica Blooms. This draws the eye to the focal image and brings out all the wonderful pinks and creams from the photo.
Just look at these gorgeous clusters of Cream Anemones, Soft Pink Botanica Minis and Pink Darjeeling Petites! Ooh-la-la!
A smaller framed image sits to the left of that lovely flourish. To give it more of a presence on the page, I layered lots of little banner flags, a doily, pink blossoms and a tassel beneath and around it.
These same pink blooms are a darling addition to this shabby chic garden sink.
I don't make many 12x12 layouts, so this was a nice change of pace for me. The beautiful papers are enhanced by these elegant chips and gorgeous flowers. Do you use chipboard elements in your crafting? How do you alter them? I'd love to hear all about it in the comment section below.
Thanks for stopping by!
Cheerio,
kathy
