An Organza Bag filled with Gift Tags By Bibiana

 

Hello Dear Petaloo friends:

 

Here, Bibiana with a quick, yet pretty gift idea ...
An "organza bag" filled with Gift Tags ready to be given to a special person!

I found these blank die cut tags at my local craft store, I stamped a sentiment in black ink and embellished each one of them with "Petaloo" Flowers and some sequins...very easy!

I planned to make some more to have for me and use whenever the occasion will come...

I embellished the bag with a sugared paper teal flower with its matching leaf...

CHA show ~ upcoming Petaloo classes you'll want to take ...

 

Hello again and Happy January!

 

There is still so much going on since the CHA show ... but one of our favorite results from CHA is gathering feedback from the store owners and determining which projects from the show might be fun classes for the stores to teach!  Pretty cool right?!

 SUMMERS DAY Canvas for Spring

 

This amazing canvas was created by our ever talented DT member ... Lynne Forsythe!!  It will be available in FEBRUARY for classes!  (Although some stores may give the class later in the spring)  It features our newest Burlap Collection of flowers, berries and butterflies along with Graphic 45's Home Sweet Home paper for spring!

 

This wonderful canvas has the coolest backround featuring paints by Tattered Angels and brick style stencils by Crafters Workshop!   Although it holds the G45 "Summers Day" poem in the center ... it can be replaced with a photo or a poem of your choice!  

 

Ask for this class from your favorite scrapbooking store or crafting store!

SET of 3 ~ "SHABBY CHIC" Cards

 

 

 Look at these beauties!  This is a 3 card class created by Lynne Forsythe which will be available in MARCH!!  (although some stores will teach it later in the spring)

 

This card class will teach you how to alter the backrounds of your cards with paint, stencils, and different art mediums!  Once you have created the backrounds of the cards ...then you will decorate them with Petaloo flowers ... woo hoo!!

 

This first card (above) feature the Botanica Collection of flowers with a pretty chipboard piece! 

 

 

This second card (above) features the Burlap Collection of flowers along with painted leaves and a little rafia for a dramatic effect...

 

 

The third card (above) will show you how to cluster the Botanica Collection of flowers, leaves and berries and tie them with Crocheted lace and Burlap trim to make a wonderful "bouquet" card!  

 

Any of these cards would be perfect for a Birthday or Mother's Day!

Decorate a Bag with Floradoodles

July is a month filled with sunshine and kids.  I know a lot Moms out there would agree with me when I say it's pricey to buy gifts for all the kids birthdays and the wrapping. I thought I create something simple to do with the kids and also something to use later.

Here's a gift bag the kids can put together while Mom can get everything else together before that party.  Just use any sold color bag you have around the house.  I recycle a lot of bags so I can use it again for gift wrap.  Saves on time and money for sure!

Here's what you'll need:

Gift bag

Petaloo brads, flowers & leaves

double side tape adhesive

paper piercer (anything you have than can pierce through a paper bag, try a needle)

1.Fold flower in half and add tape adhesive to hold together.

2.Next hold the flower against the bag and pierce the bag with the flower. Then, poke the brad through to hold everything together. You will repeat a few times to cover the edge of the bag.  You could also repeat this around the entire bag as well.

3.Last, tuck and adhere the leaves under the flowers to add a finishing touch.

Fun Hair Clips ~ KIDS Summer CRAFTS

Hello Petaloo fans! Today I'm sharing with you another fun project that you can do with your kids especially with the girls. My daughter has always wanted some fun handmade hair accessories that she can wear to parties. With that, we've created some fun top hat hair clips together. Petaloo beautiful glittered flowers are perfect for this.

 

 

It is so easy to decorate these mini top hats using the flowers and feathers. Hope you all like it!

Fun gift tags

I love to create with children, they have so many ideas and their creativity is endless! For this project I gathered not only my own daughter (who is 8 years old and loves to create with or without me), but also my little niece (6 years old) and nephew (4 years old). We decided to make gift tags, for them to use for birthday parties or other special occations.

I pulled out lots of gorgeous Petaloo Floradoodle flowers, butterflies, trims and brads. I pre-cut papers (from Marion Smith designs) to fit the tags, and then the kids created all on their own. I made two tags myself, and I was so inspired by the childrens creations that I actually "stole" some of their ideas! For example, the girls put brads in the tag holes - brilliant!!

These tags were created by my niece, Julia:

I love the color combination on the tag on the right, with the Aqua Blue Velvet Butterfly and the dark pink flower. The tag on the left has a piece of Pink Fancy Trim on top and a piece of a doily attached to the back - very creative!

My daughter, Linn, and my nephew, Gabriel, made one tag each. Linn used a Dazzler frog on hers, so cute!! And Gabriel's tag is very simple but yet stylish - one large orange Velvet Butterfly, just so cool!

And here are my own two tags, not as bold and bright as the kids as I have a "thing" for these amazing Cream Velvet Hydrangeas, but I'm quite pleased with them anyway:

Party Favors Boxes

Hello everyone! Today I'm sharing with you all a project which I've done with my kids. There are always tons of parties being held during the summer and pre-made party favors boxes can come in very handy. My kids had tons of fun putting together these cute little boxes. To jazz it up, we've added gorgeous Petaloo flower layers on each of the box.

This is a super simple project that you can have tons of fun with your kids.

Sweet and simple Petaloo crown

 Summer Crafting with KIDS...

 NICHOLA BATTILANA

I love crafting with kids! They are a lot of fun to work with and sometimes they come up with the most brilliant ideas. Plus, in general, kids love glue as much as I do :)

For this sweet summer crown I've simply taken a length of wide Crochet Lace Fancy Trim and glued on loads of pretty bright Petaloo Floradoodles and Velvet Butterflies. (Tip: Work on top of a length of waxed paper to avoid sticking.) Once dried I secured the ends. Easy peasy!

You can speed things along with hot glue... just be careful of little fingers! (Pssst, if you're in a pickle you can always use a length of paper as the base instead.)

How much fun would this be to wear to garden party or summer picknic? I think I'll make another fit just for me :)

A Crafty Play Date

If you have kids home for the summer.....
Why not have a "CRAFTY PLAY DATE" 
with a few of your kids friends!!

I picked up a $1 wooden frame,
a couple of bottles of Acrylic Paint,
a stencil or two
and some Petaloo Flowers!

I began by painting the frame with Acrylic Paint.
I then randomly brushed on some Ranger ~ Multi Medium
onto the painted frame.
I placed a page of dictionary paper onto the frame,
and set it aside to dry.

While waiting....I stacked various layers of flowers
from the FloraDoodles Value Pack and
placed a Brad Embellishment through
the center of the flowers.

I took 2 flowers from the
FloraDoodles Small Fabric Daisy Layers ~ Soft Blue,
folded each of them in half and stapled them.

Once the Multi Medium had dried, 
I spritz the dictionary paper with water
and tore off the paper not adhered down.

I used The Crafter's Workshop Templates
Mini Love Post and
Swiss Dots
and acrylic paint to pretty up my frame.

Now to put the frame all together.
I tied a piece of the Fancy Trims around the frame
and made a big loopy bow.

I adhered the large layered flower
along with the stapled flowers
and added a few Feathers 
with Ranger's Multi Medium

To spice it up, I added a little German Glitter to the flowers
and stenciled images!

Sooooo......pull out your stash of Petaloo Flowers....
invite over some Kiddos over
and let the creating begin!!

Hi there everyone!!I am beyond excited to be Guest Designing for Petaloo and the Doodlebug "Birthday Week" Blog Hop...it really is a dream come true!!

 

I immediately feel in love with the colors of the Doodlebug Sugar Shoppe Collection and the beautiful Petaloo flowers were a perfect match.

 It just isn't a Birthday unless you have a cake and cupcakes for that sugar rush!!

So first up is the cake.....

This was soooo much fun to make!!! 

The papers, flowers and trims all came together so easily to make this yummy cake. I made lots of rolled roses from the Sugar Shoppe papers to accent the gorgeous Petaloo Botanical flowers.

Aren't these Sugar Shoppe Embellishments cute!

I made the "icing" using molding paste, glitter, and beads and mists and it has so much sparkle in real life. I hope you can see it a little better in this photo!

Next up is a cupcake...

 

 

I made the liner from the Sugar Shoppe papers and stickers and cut the Petaloo Velvet Hydrangeas(Cream & Geranium) in half to form the layers of my cupcake. I once again added the icing and a few beads for sprinkles!

 

 Here is a closeup of the flower cluster on the side:

So in keeping with the theme, whats a birthday without a card!!

 

 I kept it simple letting the gorgeous flower cluster be the focus with just a few splatters of mist to top it off!

My daughters birthday isn't until January, but when I saw all the goodies from Doodlebug Sugar Shoppe and Petaloo, I just knew I had to make something fun for my daughters next birthday party. She got all excited too, and we made these invitations together.

The fun embellishments from Sugar Shoppe and beautiful Petaloo flowers are perfect for creating together with your children. My little girl loved playing with these beauties just as much as I did and we had a great time together!

The cards are 10x10 cm, and I precut all the papers to make it easier for my daughter to start. We just laid everything out on the table and started to play.

Here you can see the cards better, and I bet you can't tell which ones I made and which ones my daughter made. She is 8 years old and is a fantastic creator!
