Hello, Friends! Put on your best frock, your finest jewels and break out the china cups because today, we're having a tea party!
Our middle granddaughter loves tea parties so much that she decided to have a tea party theme for her birthday party this month. I thought it would be loads of fun to make a girly little banner, party invites and a tea party themed birthday card for her. Pretty Petaloo spring flowers added just the right finishing touch!
Banners are loads of fun to make, especially when you use cute supplies like these "Tealightful" papers from Pebbles. Doesn't this make you want to have a tea party? The floral accents are Petaloo Pink Darjeeling Mini Butterflies, Pink Petite Darjeeling Blossoms, and White Vintage Velvet Pansies.
I cut each pennant to measure 4.25" x 5.5" and then cut a fishtail on the bottom. Patterned papers were cut 1/4" smaller and stitched onto each pennant. I die cut doilies from the paper collection and layered on fussy cut images like this adorable bear in a tea cup. These larger pennants are spaced between ATC sized pennants on either side. The finished banner is so pink and girly and perfect home decor for a spring birthday party.
I used Tim Holtz' Tea Time die from Sizzix to cut out these cute tea cups.
And no tea party is complete without a fancy cake!
Because banners are so hard to photograph, I put together a very short (under 3 minute) video tour of this project for you.
I created a matching easel card that I'll give the birthday girl on her special day.
And because I was having so much fun, I made some little note cards that she can use for invites or as thank you notes.
Pinkies up!
Cheerio,
kathy
