Hi everyone!!
I am back with my first Petaloo project for 2017. I combined gorgeous Petaloo blooms and butterflies, and Graphic 45's Off To The Races Collection, with this fancy frame I've had kicking around for a few years..
I painted the frame with gesso, then I rubbed on a bit of metallic paint with my finger, but I didn't completely cover the piece. I also added a some micro beads, just to give a bit more twinkle.
Then it was time to start adding the papers, first to the background....very flat. I fussy cut some of the design elements from the papers, curled them with a bone folder, and glued them in place over pieces of chipboard, to give them dimension.
The little flags were scrunched up in my hands, for more dimension. I even pulled apart a chipboard piece, to make it thinner, and it was layered on as another flag. I absolutely love the mini flowers as another element of interest and dimension to the banner.
The garden rosettes are my new faves, and I love them in the greenish hue! Combined with peachy pinks and whites, they make a spectacular flower cluster. A few butterflies add more visual interest and finish off the piece.
I hope this piece inspires you to get rummaging through your stash of alterables, and make something beautiful with these gorgeous blooms!!
Lynne
