We are so excited to be creating Christmas "DO IT YOURSELF" handmade projects!  We will be creating with burlap, canvas, paint, flowers, embellishments and more from...

 

Canvas Corp, Tattered Angels and Petaloo

 

 

We have sent both design teams lots of fun bits and pieces to create a DIY project for the Holidays.  Some designers have a canvas apron, some have canvas bags and others have canvas banners!  BUT...everyone has lots of Petaloo flowers to paint!

 Let's get the fun started with a CHRISTMAS WALL HANGING from Petaloo DT member ... Lynne Forsythe

 

Hello Petaloo and Canvas Corp Brands Fans!
Welcome to one of my FAVORITE Blog Hops
with two of my FAVORITE manufacturers.

I opened up my DT box
to find a Canvas Corp Brands
14 x 20 Burlap Banner
(3) packages of Burlap Mini Rounds
Various Colored Burlaps
Various Colored Jute

along with Petaloo's DIY Blooms
Burlap Blossoms x 10 ~ Ivory
Burlap Blossoms x 4 ~ Ivory
Daisy Layers x 15 Burlap/Canvas ~ Ivory
Burlap Butterflies and Blossoms x 5 ~ Ivory

WHAT OH WHAT TO MAKE??
I tossed around several ideas and settled
on a Wall Hanging!

Now, there were only 9 Burlap Mini Rounds
and in order to make my "Christmas Tree"
complete......I needed 10.
I pulled a 12 x 12 Burlap Sheet out of my stash
and cut out 2 matching circles.
I sprayed the edges of all the Burlap Mini Rounds
with water and with a
round paint brush, I applied
Tattered Angels ~ Glimmer Glam ~ Lime Cordial
to the edges, allowing the color to seep
into the Burlap.

When dry, I laid out my "tree" and
choose various Petaloo Blooms
to adorn the colored Burlap Mini Rounds.

To accent the "rounds" I created loopy bows
tied from Canvas Corp Brands 
Hemp Rope Hank ~ Red.

I chose to keep the majority of the
DIY Petaloo Blooms Ivory except the ones on the
top of my "tree". 
I wanted to create a "star" effect
so I painted the Petaloo ~ Daisy Layers x 15
with Tattered Angels
Glimmer Glam ~ Golden Goddess.

I applied Heat and Bond to the back of a 
12 x 12 Burlap Sheet ~ Red
and then cut out the letters ~ BELIEVE.

I adhered them to the bottom of Burlap Banner
to finish of my wall hanging!
I accented the edges of the letters with
 Tattered Angels
Glimmer Glam ~ Golden Goddess.

The wall hanging is so pretty.
Would be a good substitute for a regular Christmas tree. Takes up less space, something you made yourself, and is so pretty.
