Hi all! Tammy here today to share a small mix media canvas with you. Its bright and bold and it has YUMMY Petaloo Flowers too!!
I actually made it for myself as a reminder. A reminder for what you say?? I will over think things to death, and usually the clock is ticking. I am forever battling those two. Its not just in my creative life either. I will think everything to death! LOL So this canvas to me is just letting myself relax and JUST PLAY without thinking of the clock or project! :) Here it is..
I didn't color those sweet little blooms as you would normally. Nope I made them a piece of the art itself. Here is my step by step process on the coloring of them.
Here they are all glued down and arranged like I wanted them to be. White and plain those yummy DIY flowers need to be colored!
First I grab a bottle of 13 Arts chalk Lemon mist.. I didn't spray it.. I used a brush and splatted it..
Now we have some Yellow We need some Blue. Tim Holtz Distress paint in broken china fit the bill. I dabbed some on my table and added a bit of water so I could splat that as well. I didn't control it but I did aim it at the flowers.
You want to make it really runny. I didn't take a pic of the canvas after the blue. (forgot) but you get the picture..
Now I am ready for my next color. Tim Holtz Distress paint in picked raspberry. I splattered some more color.. But with a twist.. I used a toothbrush this time.
After I had the splattering done I added a bit of water so the paints and ink would bleed together a bit to give a rainbow look like my canvas.
The flowers did a perfect job of holding up to my water and paints without losing their shape.
Super FUN Canvas to make! In no time at all!! :)
