So let's get the party started with a super cool DOOR HANGER from Petaloo DT member ...
DENISE HAHN
So what's a door hanger? It's kind of like a 3D greeting card. You make it, hang it on someones door, and brighten their day! These are also fun to put your own personal pictures in and can even be used a tree ornaments. But, did you know this started it's life as a small wheel of Brie? Let me show you how I used my favorite Petaloo flowers, Quick Quotes and a little Brie box to make this fun gift! -Denise
First you need one of these- a little balsa wood box that cheese comes in. You can also use Laughing Cow boxes too.
Use a cup or mug to trace out and inner circle to cut out. Cut it out gently with an Xacto Knife. Then use your cut out box lid to trace on your Quick Quotes carstock to cover. I then measured the width of my box and cut out two strips to cover the outside edge. I used my Xyron Create A Sticker to adhere my papers.
After I adhered my paper I sanded the edges with a sanding block
Then use the lid to jusge where you want to cut your background piece for the inner box. TIP: keep it simple, you don't want the paper to compete with your focal piece
Now its time to embellish! I used Petaloo Fancy trims on the inside lid. The I used Mixed Texured Layers x12 Ivory for the inside along with some Botanica Spring Berry Clusters and a Quick Quote Chipboard Sticker- then used some more Petaloo trim for the outside edge and hanger
I finsihed it off with more Flowers including one for the Petaloo Darjeeling Collection and some Petaloo Brads
Wouldn't it be fun to come home or to work or school and find a handmade sentiment on your door? So fun! Here is my suppliy list:
Petaloo Mixed Textured Blossoms Ivory x12
Petaloo Botanica Spring Berry Clusters teal
Petaloo Darjeeling Teastained Dahlias x10 Blue
Petaloo Assorted Brads Shades of Green
Petaloo Fancy Trims Shades fo Blue
