Let's "sail away" with Petaloo DT member Helena Johansson...
Hi everybody! Oh boy, did I have fun creating with Authentiques Anchored Collection, Petaloos Darjeeling flowers, Penny Lane flowers and Seashells!
This paper collection really inspired me to do something "beachy" and I started with layering a couple of the beautiful papers. I painted the edges and the middle with some white gesso and glued a piece of cheesecloth in the middle, perfect to get that ocean feeling.
I then cut smaller pieces of different papers and made a little banner, also using the Anchored stickers and tiny pieces of cheesecloth. I then attached little clothespins and a piece of Petaloo string in bright red. I glued the banner on top of the cheesecloth and started to decorate with Petaloo Darjeeling flowers in blue and red, and Penny Lane Forget Me Nots in white. I also added some seashell pins and seashells.
I finished everything off with some white gesso here and there.
Now I'm only waiting for Summer to arrive!
Here are a couple of close-ups for you:
Thank you for stopping by today! I hope you have been inspired!

I love the dimension of the banner, and the whitewash/gesso treatment is perfect for the nautical theme :)
