Hello everyone, Guest Designer Stacy Rodriguez here with you today on the amazing Petaloo blog!! I have simply loved seeing all of the amazing creations from the design team using the fabulous Botanica collection. I adore all of the new goodies Petaloo has created!!
For my project today I created a little home decor piece, perfect for Spring (if Spring ever gets here that is)!! Here is how my finished piece turned out.
For this project I started with a piece of corrugated board and cut it down to 6x6 in size. I then pealed off some of the edges all the way around the board and painted it with white gesso then set aside to let it dry. The base pattern paper is cut to 5 3/4" x 5 3/4". I inked it with Walnut Stain Distress Ink and adhered it flat to the board. Notice the corners are not adhered down as I rolled the corners. I then layered another piece of pattern paper cut to 5"x5" and placed that down at an agle so that you can see both of the pattern papers. I cut out a couple of the images and butterflies from the Marion Smith collection Motley and popped them up in the center. Then it was game on with the Botanica collection!! I must say that the new Spring Berry Clusters are so much fun to create with!!! I think I need these in every color!!
Look at how beautiful the Faux Dried Blooms are (the ivory flowers), they are simply stunning!!
In the close up below you can see the Spring Berry Clusters. You can pull the pieces apart to spread them out.....oh so in love with these!! The vibriant Botanica Minis fit perfectly around the largers Faux Dried Blooms and really tie the project together.
Supplies Used:
Marion Smith - Motley Collection
Ranger - Walnut Stain Distress Ink
Thanks so much to Petaloo for having me as a Guest Designer today, and thanks to everyone for stopping by the blog today.
Have an amazing day!
~Stacy
