Hello, Friends! It's Kathy here with a Too Cute to Spook Halloween Banner. I was digging around in the Closet of Shame and found some adorable Graphic 45 Happy Hauntings paper. This collection has always been a favorite because of the sweet vintage Halloween images. I spent a fun afternoon cutting, sewing, spritzing and gluing this one together.
I went with a classic orange and black color palette with just a few pops of green and purple to jazz things up a bit. I wanted to really load the banner up with all kinds of pretty ribbons and flowers, but only had 2 sort of orange flowers in my Petaloo stash. No problem! It was a piece of cake to alter these pretty posies with a little Glimmer Mist. Now I have custom dyed flowers to match my papers. Sa-weet!
Even though these were NOT DIY flowers, I found that they took the mists very well and held their shape with no problems. I used Tattered Angels Jack-o-Lantern and Peach Delight to color all the flowers you see here. Some only required a tiny spritz, like the Peach Botanica Bloom on the left. The burlap sunflowers in the top left corner were originally yellow, but you'd never know that now, would you? Same thing goes for the Canvas Mini Sunflowers!
These green Darjeeling Dahlias and Cream Cherry Blossoms offer a nice contrast to the orange and black color palette. I did spritz the Dahlias with a little mist.
Mini banner flags sit between the larger pennants. I added little silver charms with baker's twine.
Fall Mix Burlap Leaves make a great base for my flower clusters.
I covered the itty bitty magnifying glass with clear acrylic packaging then added a not too spooky spider and gold glass glitter inside.
Thanks for stopping by!
