A Vintage Spring card from DT member Helena Johannson:

Spring is in full bloom and what better way to celebrate that than to make a card? I decided to make a vintage one, and the blue Mulberry paper daisies has got the perfect shade of blue to go with the music paper. I layered several flowers and used a brad in the middle. I folded the "legs" of the brad a bit to make the flower more three dimensional. Then I added some blue tye-dyed daisies around the larger flower.

I love Spring!

Hi everybody! Helena here to share a couple of Petaloo projects with you. Spring has finally arrived, and I just love this time of year - love when everything comes to life again and even the rain smells good, not to mention the first Spring flowers!

Speeking of flowers, Petaloos Flora Doodles, Mulberry Paper Daisies and Dazzlers were just perfect for my Spring themed cards. All the colors of these flowers just makes me happy!

First, a card in yellow, red and green - such a yummy color combination! I made my cards sized 3x3, a size that's perfect to tuck into a bouquet of flowers :)

The second card is in yellow, pink and blue. Look at the little bird - isn't it adorable!

Then, I decided to make a card in black and white with one additional color. Using flowers in only one color in several layers, makes the flower really pop of the card. I love the rich red color in these Mulberry Paper flowers. This card is size 6x6.

You're amazing!

Hi everybody! Helena here to share a couple of Petaloo-projects with you!

When I got Petaloo's new Darjeeling flowers in my hands the very first word that I thought were - amazing!! And then I thought that would be the perfect title for this page about my darling son, because he truly is one amazing boy.

The papers from Graphic 45, "Little Darlings", match the Petaloo, "Spring Darjeeling" ~  Pistachio colored flowers so well, don't you think?

A couple of close-ups of these beautiful flowers:

(I used the "Spring Darjeeling" Lg Daisies, Dahlias, Frosted Roses, Butterflies, Beaded Hat Pins, Mixed Foliage in dark Brown and Velvet Grape leaves to frame the photo)

When I was finished with my layout I decided to go all green *lol* and I decorated a Dusty Attic-frame with pics of myself and my dh and lots of Pistachio-green Petaloo flowers. (And I know you can't see this in the photo of me, but I actually have a Petaloo-flower in my hair - a red velvet and lace flower!)

Spring is in the air! Well, almost that is. I don't know what it's like in other countries, but we in the north, Sweden, always long for spring. We have such dark winters and some days, if you work indoors, you don't see any daylight at all. It's already getting lighter though, and in about a month or so the snow will melt and we will se spring flowers pop up here and there - I can't wait!

Even though my sister and her husband got married in October, I wanted to do a light and bright layout with some pics of the newlyweds. Since springtime often means weddingtime, I felt this theme would be a good one for my sisters weddingpics and hopefully this page will inspire all of you to sprinkle some gorgeous Petaloo flowers on your spring pages, weddingpages or others!

 

I've used lots of beautiful Petaloo flowers and leaves on this page and I love how light and crisp the colors look together! The large open rose was painted with crackle accents and then I sprinkled some yellow glitter on in. I treated some of my chipboard pieces from Dusty Attic the same way.

My favourite shoes!

Hi everybody! Helena here to share a Petaloo-layout with you. I chose to do a page with a very special Valentines-theme, as Valentines day only is a few days away - I wanted to express the love I have for my fav shoes *lol*. A girl can never have to many shoes, but once in a while you find those special ones, the ones you want to wear everyday, for every outfit. My fav shoes are red, and that fact made me think about doing this page.

I used Valentines-papers and stickers from Jillibean Soup and gorgeous flowers from Petaloo - Jeweled candies, CMC hydrangeas (that I kept white to make them "pop" a bit in this colorful page) and Tiffanies treasures. This page is a bit unusual to be me, but I kind of love it anyway!

Here's a close-up of a few of the flowers (and my shoes!). I even did a bit of journaling, which I rarely do.

Hi everybody! Helena here, sharing a couple of projects with beautiful Darjeeling flowers from Petaloo combined with fabulous papers from Graphic 45. Such an amazing match - the colors are perfect together!

First, a layout with a photo from my sisters wedding this fall. I used lots of Darjeeling flowers with colornames like Sienna and Eggplant (I love these colornames - they describe the colors in such a beautiful way!). The papers from Graphic 45, Tropical Travelogue Collection, go so well with these gorgeous flowers and I could easily use flowers with several colors.

A couple of close-ups:

I painted the flowers with a little bit of white acrylic paint, a nice effect against the patterned papers, especially the one with white dots.

My next project is a frame, approx size 6x6, that I covered with a paper with this amazing blue color. Of course, the Darjeeling flowers I chose to decorate the frame with are all blue (and a couple of black and white ones just to add "that little something").

Something for your Christmas candy?

HOORAY...only one more week until Christmas!!  If you find yourself (somehow) with a little extra time to create a few "last minute" Christmas decorations or gifts, Petaloo has some great project ideas!

I love making Christmas candy with my children. I also love eating Christmas candy! If there will be something left after we make fudge this year, I will put some in this little cornet I made out of beautiful papers from Pion Design and with lots of gorgeous Petaloo flowers. Maybe I even will give this away (if there is some fudge left, that is...)?

I just rolled the papers into a little cone and then glued them together. I put a doily in the opening and then I attached some lovely ribbon and lace from May Arts for a handle. And then I dived into my flowerbox and found Ivy Leaf vines, Magnolia blossoms and Velvet hydrangeas which I used to decorate my cornet.

Look at these amazing flowers and vine! I love the gold sprayed onto the ivy leaf vine - perfect for a Christmas project. Hmm, I just might keep this one and hang it into our Christmas tree!

I had so much fun creating with Petaloo flowers and Jillibean Soup papers and embellishments! These products really made me happy and I made a whole bunch of cards for Christmas with the fun papers from Jillibean Soup and sweet Petaloo flowers. Now I can hardly wait until I get to send my cards to friends and family!

First, I made a card with a tag, in blue and brown. The light blue and white flowers from the Devon collection goes so well with the blue and brown papers from Jillibean Soup Christmas papers, Christmas Eve Chowder. I also sprinkled out a few Flora Doodle flowers here and there.

Then, I made three smaller cards, size 3x3. Perfect for those Christmas presents!

For these cards, I used Petaloo's Jeweled Florettes flowers in green and fuschia. I love these cute, little flowers. They make my cards sparkle and the colors match the Jillibean papers so well! And look at this little penguin - have you ever seen such a cutie?

I adore the twine called Bean Stalks from Jillibean soup, it adds that little extra on my cards.

For my last card, I cut a few Christmas trees from one of the patterned papers, they are adorable!

Beautiful fall

Hi everybody! Helena here, sharing a layout about a beautiful fall-day with you. We moved to our house almost three years ago, and the best thing about living in a house is the garden! Our children loves playing out there, no matter what season.

I used gorgeous Color me Crazy flowers in brown and paprika, such lovely fall-colors. With these flowers you can build just about any flower you like. Perfect! I matched these flowers with a berry spray in burgundy. I formed it to look like a tree and then just spread out my flowers here and there.

 

To add that little extra, I put a few jewel centers, blue sapphire, on my page. They are so elegant and make a lovely contrast to the other flowers.

I must say that May Arts ribbon, Coredinations papers and Petaloo flowers are a perfect match! All the products comes in so many beautiful colors, that you can create just about anything with them. And speaking of a perfect match, the card I'm showing you today was made for my sister and her husband when they got married recently. I wanted their card to be a bit different - romantic but yet suitable for both the bride and groom. They loved it!

 

I used white Coredinations paper for my card, combined with a brown shade. I tore the edges to get a rough effect. The striped ribbon from May Arts matches the brown shades of the paper beautifully, and so do the Petaloo Color me Crazy flowers in brown and white.

My next project for today are four placement cards. I've played with blue and white here, using a bracket shaped edge punch in different ways. The punch embosses too, which you can see on both the blue and white paper from Coredinations. I've decorated the little cards with Petaloo Color me Crazy flowers and May Arts ribbon in blue and white. I also punched out leaves and a bird from the Coredinations paper.

 

Making your own placement cards is a quick and easy way to make your dining table look beautiful and personalized for your guests.
