Hello and welcome to my Hello Spring post and project between Petaloo and Little Yellow Bicycle. I decided to create a little gift basket, card and arrangement for my mom for Mother's Day. I had a great time creating it with all of the wonderful Petaloo and Little Yellow Bicycle products and I can't wait to give it to her.
Here are a few details about my project.
The first thing that I made was a card. I used the Little Yellow Bicycle's Hello Spring sticker sheet and papers. The large tree trunk on the sticker sheet is seperate from the leaves and flowers for the tree so I replaced a couple of stickers with Petaloo Floradoodles flowers. Then I used some LYB gems for the centers of the flowers and around the tree. I also used a little bit of the grass on the sticker sheet and popped it up with foam adhesive. The title stickers are from the LYB Hello Spring sticker sheet as well.
The second part of my project is the 3D watering can. I cut the can out of LYB Hello Spring papers using a SVG Cuts file and my Silhouette. Then I had fun embellishing it with Petaloo Floradoodles and LYB Hello Spring embellishments. I love the cute LYB transparencies in this collection. I attached them with foam adhesive for added depth.
Here are a couple of closeups of the embellishments on the watering can. Click on the picture for a larger view.
The butterfly transparencies were glued onto floral wire with Glossy Accents. Then I took a old sponge, though I would have perferred to use a half of a stryofoam ball or florist foam, and put it in the bottom of the can and stuck the butterflies on the wire into it to make them stand up.
The last part of my project is a little stand again cut with my Silhouette using a file from SVG Cuts called Poplar Street Tulips. The label on the stand was decorated with Petaloo Floradoodles flowers stacked on top of each other and then held together with a brad. I love using the green flowers as the leaves so there is always a green flower on the bottom of the stacks.
I think that my mom is really going to enjoy receiving this gift. It will look very pretty on a shelf in her kitchen.
