Color Me Crazy Unity Stamps Day 4

It's Lisa Valentine's turn today on the Petaloo Blog.  You are going to LOVE what Lisa has made today. 

I love stamps and sometimes I foget just how much until I get an opportunity to just play.  I got that opportunity this week, and had a great time playing with some fun stamps from Unity Stamps.

I used Unity's Itty Bitty stamps called Encircled Love to create the banner as well as the little popped up circle.  I added some Petaloo Trim to my banner to dress it up a bit.  In the background I used Unity's Itty Bitty Love Tiles stamp.  I added some Petaloo's Color Me Crazy flowers to the mix.  I used Color Splash mist and Silk Acrylic Glaze to color them.

Here I used Unity's Itty Bitty Princess Kiss stamp on a white pices of card stock with Pink ink.  I laid it behind my chipboard dress form from Petaloo to give it some detail.  I added some of Petaloo's metal buttons and a Darjeeling flower to finish it off.

Color Me Crazy Unity Stamps Day 2

Today is the 2nd day of our team-up with Unity Stamps.  We have been coloring all month with the Color Me Crazy collections.  Now we get to stamp and ink this week so lets' see who's up today. 

Today we have this darling card desinged by

This card was made using the Color Me Crazy Value Bag Medium Layers in white. 

I colored them with blue and yellow color shine (the Color Shine we used from last week's team-up) and inked the edges in a light brown. I also layered my flowers to make them fuller and added a brad from the Coordinating Brads and Trims line to hold the layers together. 

To acheive this effect for a fuller flower.  I layered a few small flowers together and then picked the same style flower, but in a larger size and held them together with a brad.  You can lightly spray them with water so they look more life like before you color them.

Color Me Crazy Unity Stamps!

Starting tomorrow, Monday, May 20th.  We bring you a super delightful team-up week.  Unity Stamps will be joining us all week to bring stamping to our Color Me Crazy collections. 

We can't wait for you join us!  Starting Monday, we will have tons of ideas on how to stamp, color, ink, emboss and all the fun that you can create with stamping. Color Me Crazy with Ranger Ink and Lisa Pace

 

Hi, I'm Lisa Pace and I was so happy to be asked to be a part of Color Me Crazy Week using products by two awesome companies, Petaloo and Ranger Ink. Of course I decided to create something with a shabby chic feel as soon as I saw the Shabby Cut and Straight Cut Fabric Flowers. I decided to alter a canvas clutch as I thought the Fabric Flowers would be the perfect accent and I was right. 

First, I covered the canvas clutch with decorative napkins using Claudine Hellmuth Studio Multi Medium in Matte. Once the Multi Medium dried using fabric adhesive I attached crotchet and rhinestone trims around the front edge of the canvas clutch opening. 

It was then time to start altering the Shabby and Straight Cut Fabric Flowers. I decided to use Tim Holtz Distress Stains to color each of my Fabric Flowers. I applied a generous amount of Spun Sugar onto the large Shabby Cut Fabric Flower and Faded Jeans and Mustard Seed on two different Fabric Flowers from the Straight Cut.

You see two Mustard Seed color Frayed Fabric Flowers in the photo, just ignore one as I decided later, two was too many.

Once all three Fabric Flowers had a generous amount of Tim Holtz Distress Stain applied I then placed each flower underneath the faucet and rinsed some of the Distress Stain away. This gave each flower a gorgeous muted shabby chic color.

While the Fabric Flowers were drying I started altering some Cotton Paper Medium Sized Leaves. I could have buckets full of these leaves and I would still not have enough. These are the perfect size to tuck into all kinds of projects. 

I applied Tim Holtz Distress Stain in Peeled Paint to five Cotton Paper Leaves. I loved how each of the leaves absorbed the Distress Stain as each leaf was a bit different just as they are in nature. To dry each Cotton Paper Leaf I held them one at a time with a pair of tweezers then dried them using a Heat It Craft Tool. 

Using Archival Ink in Coffee I randomly stamped each Cotton Paper Leaf using the advertisement stamp from my Antiquated Collection Perfumery stamp set. Once the stamping was completed it was time to attach the altered Fabric Flowers and Cotton Paper Leaves to the altered clutch.

Of course this is when I decided to apply a light coat of Diamond Stickles over the altered Faded Jeans Straight Cut Fabric Flower. All I did was apply some Diamond Stickles on my finger and rub it onto the Straight Cut Fabric Flower. This added a bit more interest to the floral grouping I wanted on the front of the clutch. Since it was such a light coating (just enought to add a little sparkle here and there) I didn't feel the need to wait for the Stickles to dry. 

Using fabric adhesive I attached each altered Fabric Flower into a small grouping. Then using the same fabric adhesive I tucked the Cotton Paper Leaves in among the flowers. 

To complete the clutch I added a few stick pins among the flowers and accented some of the pattern on the napkins using Diamond Stickles. 

I hope you enjoyed this project and it's sparked a little inspiration. Altering the Canvas Fabric Flowers is so easy and fun to do, it's almost sinful if you don't give it a try.

I always love creating with CMC flowers - you can paint them, mist them or keep them just as they are, they are perfect for any project! Together with Heidi Swapps products these flowers really shows off - everything goes so well together and once I started creating I could hardly stop!

First I want to show you a layout where I've used papers and embellishment from Heidi Swapp's No Limit collection with CMC Flower Layers and Darjeeling flowers.

I started with the background: I painted with gesso, used a stencil and texture paste, then misted with Heidi Swapp Color Shine - colors gold and tinsel. Then I layered a few pieces of paper and my photo on top of a piece of cheesecloth.

Then I pulled out lots of Petaloo CMC flowers and used the same colors of mists to color them. Some with just gold, some with just tinsel and some with both. The chipboard flourishes tucked into my large flower cluster I painted with gesso and then used a Heidi Swapp stamp (the word "Today") to create a pattern.

I love Heidi Swapps Buzz Words - so pretty and fun!

I attached some Petaloo brads - color Teal - here and there. They are so cute!

Finally I painted with gesso and texture paste a bit here and there :)

After making the layout I still had some misted flowers left, so I created a card:

I would also like to show you the process when I colored the flowers and lace seen on the card:

I have used CMC Flower Layers and Darjeeling flowers. The mists are Heidi Swapp's Color Shine, and I have used the colors Gold and Tinsel. I use a plastic box when I mist, you will see why later.

I first sprayed the flower layer with Tinsel color.

Then I sprayed with Gold color on top, which gives the flower a beautiful shine.

I then sprayed the Darjeeling flowers, one with Gold and one with Tinsel. As you can see, there's quite some wet mist around the flowers since I used a plastic box to spray in, the left over mist I used like this:

I took the flower layer and held the edges in the wet mist and let the flower soak up more mist. You can see that the tips of the flower are a bit darker with a golden edge. I first let the flower soak up some tinsel color, then gold color. It turned out beautiful!

But, I wasn't ready just yet, I still had lots of mist left in my plastic box. So, I used it on a piece of Petaloo lace and the cheesecloth I used beneath the flowers, I just put the lace and cloth into the plastic box and let it soak up the mist. I also put my Darjeeling flowers upside down in the mist leftovers for a while. The possibilites are endless and I have only used two colors!

The great thing about Color Me Crazy flowers is you can layer them and create these clusters of blossoms. I loved using Heidi Swapp's products and Color Shine.

You can see how easy these Color Me Crazy flowers layer.  By adding the brads it gives the flowers even more color and texture.

Heidi's adorable embellishments really helped make my layout take flight with the flags and stickers.

I've used the water color painting technique to paint the CMC flowers. To do this, I've used some water based paints and inks. After painting, I've added a layer of color shine mist to give some sparkle to it.

Hi Everyone!! This week I had the distinct pleasure (with full on smiles and some hip shaking) to work with Heidi Swapp products.  The hip shaking came when I looked at the Sugar Chic paper collection and got happy feet.  Oh, and don't even get me started on the Color Shine mists!  Seriously....

This is my fabulous cutie when she was about 4 years old.  They had a carnival day at pre-school and she got her face painted like a little tiger.  Of course, this picture was taken at the end of the day, but she is still as cute as can be.  Meow!!  LOL

Isn't the Sugar Chic paper fun?  It opens up so many doors to just be silly and take a walk on the wild side.

I have said so many things about Petaloo's Color Me Crazy line of flowers, and all of them are true.  These flowers are a blank canvas and the only thing holding you back is your own imagination.  I stamped and then used Liquid Pearls to embellish my flowers, but not before I became a misting maniac with Heidi Swapp's Color Shine Mists.  Holy moley!!!

I combined Mustard and Primrose to get this gorgeous shade of orange.  Kind of like a melon color.  No kidding...Mustard and Primrose got me that gorgeous color.  Who'd a thunk it?  This mist dries fast and the pump never clogged on me.  BONUS!!!

Today I want to share with you a great idea for a Mothers Day Gift. I converted a regular matted picture frame into a lovely shadow box for my Mom. It's not too often that I dabble into creating layouts, but as soon as I saw the Heidi Swapp Vintage Chich collection I was drawn to create a layout.  With a recent change in my career I had a perfect opportunity to create a layout with my newest pictures. So I went to town to create.  I used Petaloo's Color Me Crazy flowers, which I LOVE so many ways, as I love to alter the colors of them.  

With Heidi's Color Shine Sprays I painted up a lot of pretty Color Me Crazy flowers and just layered them all over my layout.

Next I used my other favorite from the Color Me Crazy Collection, which is the Chipboards.  I painted it with white paint to achieve the look I wanted and added some of the stickers from Heidi Swap's Vintage Vintage Chich Collection.

I loved Heidi's stamps, so I used them all over my layout and even used her little journalin spot stamp.  By the way to color my gorgeous Color Me Crazy flowers I used the following Color Shine Sprays: Primrose, Chartreuse, Mint Green, Tropicana Teal, Gold, Bronzer and Black.

I also used the Chipboard Keyholes, which once again I painted with white paint.  I also sprayed Heidi's Chipboard Alphas with Resist with her Color Shines.  It's such a fun part of her collection.

As a final touch I added some gesso to my flowers and also the paper to make it look more vintage.  Hope you like it.
