Well, I'm not sure spring is actually in the air but this pretty little gift bag and notebook certainly have beautiful Petaloo spring flowers all over them. Let me show you how to make someone special a happy little gift like this and shine a little spring in their day with Petaloo's new Textured Blossoms.
The little gift bag was really fun to make. I used a small muslin bag that I've had in my stash for awhile. To make it easier to work with, I actually used my seam ripper and pulled the bag apart on the edges. At that point the drawstring at the top was still intact but the rest of the bag was flat. I took the brand new Crochet Lace Trim in Pink that Petaloo released this past Winter CHA, and sewed a piece of it all the way across the bag.
Then I added the Wild Flower Seeds embellishment which I cut from an Authentique paper in their Seasons:Spring collection. The paper has a beautiful thick quality that just blended onto the muslin. I stitched it on the muslin bag and then sewed up the sides and bottom of the bag. An unexpected bonus happened when I went to turn the bag outside. The paper was a little stift so I had to bend it a little which added to the distressed look.
Then it was time to decorate it with the beautiful new Petaloo Mixed Texture Blossoms in Apricot and matching Mini Textured Blossoms in Salmon and Teal. These new flowers are so pretty and the perfect embellishment for the Authentique papers and the muslin bag. The Textured flowers are very detailed and the materials used to make the flowers are so unique. I know you will love them.
So, if you have followed me, you know that I love making little decorated notebooks. This one is a mini size and fits perfectly in the gift bag. I covered the lined paper pad with the Authentique paper. Then decorated it with one of the cutups and some stickers.
On this project I used a different set of the Textured flowers. These are called Textured Layers in the Apricot color. These flowers layers are ready for you to create and design your own one of a kind flower. There are also centers for your flowers.
Here you can see how the notebook fits into the bag. Now don't you think that this would make a great gift for someone you know?
Thanks for stopping by and I hope that these flowers have brought a little spring to your day! Thanks, Christine
