With the 4th of July right around the corner here in the States, I wanted to create a page that was a bit Americana.

This is in my top 3 favorite family photos, and it is one I have scrapped before.  This was taken 6 years ago at a family reunion we held at our home over the 4th of July weekend.  This is a picture of my DD (far left) and my 3 nieces.  Aren't they the sweetest things!?  I love taking spontaneous photos as opposed to posed photos.  While everyone was trying to get them to "behave", I just kept snapping away and was overjoyed when I saw what I had captured.  My SIL made the matching dresses for the girls. :)  My niece, Kasey (3rd one from left) is a cancer survivor.  She was diagnosed prior to her 1st birthday.  We were very pleased to learn that days before their trip to our home, that she was cancer free for the first time in her very young life.  I am very happy to tell you that she is still in remission and living a strong and healthy life.  A true blessing.

I wanted to keep my page simple and working with Color Me Crazy Floradoodles was a snap! 

I simply misted the flowers blue and embellished them with Liquid pearls and Petaloo feathers.  I then misted the leaves with red and used them to accent the flower.

Happy 4th of July.....

When I think of the 4th of July....
I think of parades, food and family gatherings! 

Sooooo.....I created this "WELCOME" banner
just for this occasion!

I pulled out my stash of patriotic paper,
some banner goodies....
and a pile of COLOR ME CRAZY flowers!!

I must say.....
I had SOOOO much fun creating this banner!!
I was tearing....
crumpling...
spritzing....
and dippin!!!

they turned out just PERFECT!!

sanded the high points,
and inked the high points!

I rubbed the paint onto the
Glass Ornament Pins.
Soooo PRETTY!

Something Good will happen today

Hello Petaloo fans.

I hope you all enjoyed fathersday. We surely did. When I look in my street I see lots of flags and backpacks. I don't know if that's tradition in the USA but that's the way we let friends and family know we passed our exams and graduated high school.

It's been a long time since I graduated and my childeren are still to young. I did however want to scrap an important milestone so I choose my daughters swim certificated. She worked for 2 years to get her Swim ABC complete with this last "C - certificate".

She was exhausted. I was extremely proud.

Dear Dad

In Sweden we celebrate Father's Day in the fall, so I will have to save this card for a while :)

The Darjeeling flowers in black and cream inspired me to create a romantic card. The papers from Pion Design are called "For Father" and they just match the amazing Petaloo flowers perfectly! I just love the variety of flowers in the Darjeeling collection, they are beautiful for any project!

Hi there, it's Eva sharing a couple of cards here today.  Since this week it's Father's Day and there are a lot of graduations happening right now, I thought I would make two cards for the two different occasions.  Let me share my Father's Day card first.  On this card my stamped images are from JustRite Papercrafts and I added quite a few beautiful Darjeeling flowers to it.  They just dress up my card beautifully.

And now let me show you my graduation card, which I made into a more feminine look, eventhough my flowers seemed to be more masculine.  I wanted to show you that you can still use them on feminine flowers.  Once again my sentiment came from JustRite Papercrafts.

Hope these cards inspire you to pick up these sweet flowers and create something pretty with them.  Here is the list of the flowers I used on these cards today.

Dads and Grads

It's that time of year to celebrate Dads and Grads and today's cards have that in mind.  I made a couple of cards using Petaloo's Darjeelings and Mini Darjeelings.

The Mini Darjeelings come in a variety of colors and are great for scrapbooking, cards, altered project or anything you can think of.  

Layer adds a lot of balance and texture to any projects and with the Mini Darjeelings you can accomplsh that!

In honor of Father's Day, here's a card I made using the Mini Darjeeling leaves.  

I love using the leaves from Petaloo.  These leaves are so fun and you can do so much with them.  I used my leaves like a small banner across my card.  You could use it as the shape of the sun.  Why stop there?  You could build another flower using the leaves in a circliar design.  Cool, huh?

Celebrating Dads

Happy Father's Day!!

Not Only A Dad But A Best Friend Too

It's the title of my scrapbook page but a true statement as well.  I love that I can see many similarities in my husband and daughter and that they have that special bond.  

My layout features Petaloo's gorgeous Darjeeling Collection.  This collection contains many different types of flowers and colors.  These flowers are so pretty.  Since they are made with 100% Scrap & Recycled T-shirt material they feel soft and crumpled.  They are perfect for your vintage and shabby chic projects. For this project I paired them with a few papers and embellishments from Authentique's Genuine collection.  I also rubbed some Stickles Stardust glue on them for some shine.

Here are a couple up close pictures of the flower bunches. When placing flowers on my layout I always start with the largest flower first. Then I start building, using smaller flowers and different colors. I also try to pick out a flower in a contrasting color.  Finally I tuck in leaves here and there and maybe some accents like the mesh and glass ornament pins. I use small glue dots just to keep them in place until I am sure that it all looks right.

After I have all of the flowers where I want them, I will go back with some Ranger's Glossy Accents, gently lift the some of the petals on the flowers, and squirt glue underneath each flower.  That way they will stay permanently in place and I won't have to worry about them falling off inside my albums page protectors.

Father's Day Easel Card

Hello Petaloo fans! Today, I would like to share with you all a Father's Day card which can also be a gift. The grungy looking Darjeeling flowers are perfect for this card.

This easel card can also be used a home decor. This card is created for my husband. I've personalized it with pictures of his kids including his furkid so that he could look at them when he display it on his office table at work.

Where to go with Dad??

With Father's Day just around the corner, I decided to rummage through my photos for pics of my hubby and my daughter.

I came across this photo that was taken a few years back.  My daughter wanted to go for a short scoot on our Harley with her Dad.  She looked so cute and I was told by her father, rather proudly, that she is a natural-born rider.  Then he said that the nut didn't fall far from the tree and gave me a wink.  LOL  Pssht!

 

I used Tim Holtz's Destinations paper for this page and added some of my moooooost fave flowers in the whole wide world.

It just doesn't get much better than this.  *sigh*  The color and feel of the Darjeeling flowers along with a Canterbury Rose and Berry Sprig really make me smile.
