Spring Darjeeling...ooh la la!

It's definately Spring and with it comes Spring colors. 

Today we are going to mix it up with Graphic 45's Little Darlings collection, May Arts ribbons and Petaloo's NEW Spring Darjeeling collection in Pistachio color.

The Mini Daisies and Mini Pearl Daisies are NEW in the Spring Darjeeling collection and come in a variety of tones and colors.  You will love what Petaloo has created for Spring!

I just love how perfect these little minis are.  Perfect for cardmaking and anything else you want to make.  I can just see these flowers on a layout as well.  You can use small to large size flowers to your work of art.

Petaloo's NEW Spring Darjeeling

Petaloo's NEW Spring Darjeeling in Pistachio color, Graphic 45's "Little Darlings" collection and May Arts ribbons, oh my!  What an awesome trio!  I love that I get to work with such awesome companies and LOVE that Petaloo makes such beautiful realistic flowers.

I also love to cluster Petaloo's flowers!  It's so easy when the flowers comes in different sizes and colors to choose from. 

Did you see the butterflies and the mini pins?  Look how cute these are?  I love it all and you will too.  The butterflies and pins are NEW to the Spring Darjeeling collection.

You can use it in clusters like I did here or use it in any of your craft making.  The pins and butterflies come in the same color tones as the flowers so it's super easy to match them up.

Are you ready for spring from Holland?

Dear Petaloo fans, Mireille here waving "hi" from Holland. I know it's still a long time till spring but I am sooo ready for it! I had so much fun creating a little touch of spring with these happy colors...

I have said it before and I will say it again. I love flowers and I think they go very well on "boy- layouts" too. The blue's and green's  were perfect for these photo's and they match the paper very, very well.

My son Noah with his best friend "in Paradise" - at the local ice cream parlour getting an icecream after having fun at the fair. They had tons of fun over there too.  (This paper by Graphic 45 may be called "Tropical Travelogue", but it works beautifully for any everyday project!!)  Look how perfectly the Petaloo flowers match the G45 paper...it makes me want to create, create and create!

Spring is in the air! Well, almost that is. I don't know what it's like in other countries, but we in the north, Sweden, always long for spring. We have such dark winters and some days, if you work indoors, you don't see any daylight at all. It's already getting lighter though, and in about a month or so the snow will melt and we will se spring flowers pop up here and there - I can't wait!

Even though my sister and her husband got married in October, I wanted to do a light and bright layout with some pics of the newlyweds. Since springtime often means weddingtime, I felt this theme would be a good one for my sisters weddingpics and hopefully this page will inspire all of you to sprinkle some gorgeous Petaloo flowers on your spring pages, weddingpages or others!

 

I've used lots of beautiful Petaloo flowers and leaves on this page and I love how light and crisp the colors look together! The large open rose was painted with crackle accents and then I sprinkled some yellow glitter on in. I treated some of my chipboard pieces from Dusty Attic the same way.

Enjoy Every Moment

Lately I have been going through my boxes of pictures tyring to get organized and I am realizing that there are a lot of pictures that I haven't yet scrapped.  So as I reminisced, looking at pictures of my kids when they were young, I found this picture and decided that it would look great with some soft and pretty Petaloo flowers.  The day that I took this picture was a beautiful 1995 spring day in Florida and my daughter was having fun playing dress up in her new ballet skirt that my mom made for her.  She thought she was a princess.  I am so happy that I took pictures to capture that special moment.

For this layout, I took inspiration from a blog post that I read on the Jillibean blog where the designers were challenged to create a layout from 6x6 papers.  The patterns on these papers are much smaller than the 12x12 version and are really perfect for cards and mini albums. But as I found, they also work great on large layouts as well.  So once I got all of my pattern papers placed I went digging through my Petaloo stash and pulled flowers of all kinds in soft pretty pink, blue, yellow, and white colors.

On my layout I used a few Color Me Crazy flowers and some soft silk paper flowers from the Devon Collection.  The feel of the Bristol and Brighton flowers are so lovely.  Each is handcrafted and hand dyed on silk paper and have a soft texture that I love.

Then I used the large Bluebell Color Me Crazy Core-dinations flowers as the focal point in my flower clusters.  I used foam dots under them to lift them off the page a bit.  

I like to get creative when thinking of how to decorate the centers of the Color Me Crazy flowers. For these flower centers I used some Bo Bunny cardstock which I punched holes in and then back stitched with DMC floss.  I love the homespun feel that the hand stitching gives to their look.

"the day of LOVE"....

...is here....not that EVERYDAY is a day to LOVE (just saying!!)

It's Lynne here....
and I had a day to just play....and PLAY I DID!!
I decided to pull out my Melting Pot, some Beeswax, a bit of canvas
and some PETALOO FLOWERS
and ohhh the fun I had!



with the upcoming "HEART DAY", I decided to create a Valentine Card.
The heart was cut out of Canvas, using a homemade template, I applied Beeswax to the heart. When cooled, I sprayed the heart with Color Wash.
I melted off the wax with my Heat tool.
Then I thought......hhmmmm...what if I dipped some flowers in the wax??
So, I tried it.......AND I LIKED THE EFFECT!!!
so much so.....I decided to create another card.

My favourite shoes!

Hi everybody! Helena here to share a Petaloo-layout with you. I chose to do a page with a very special Valentines-theme, as Valentines day only is a few days away - I wanted to express the love I have for my fav shoes *lol*. A girl can never have to many shoes, but once in a while you find those special ones, the ones you want to wear everyday, for every outfit. My fav shoes are red, and that fact made me think about doing this page.

I used Valentines-papers and stickers from Jillibean Soup and gorgeous flowers from Petaloo - Jeweled candies, CMC hydrangeas (that I kept white to make them "pop" a bit in this colorful page) and Tiffanies treasures. This page is a bit unusual to be me, but I kind of love it anyway!

Here's a close-up of a few of the flowers (and my shoes!). I even did a bit of journaling, which I rarely do.

HOT, HOT, HOT from CHA show!

We are just getting back from the CHA show, but there is one question everone is asking us..."What was HOT at the show?"

So we thought we would focus our next two posts on answering this question...

Let's start by saying that "VINTAGE-SHABBY" style is HOT, HOT, HOT!!!

It is all about mixing old and new, loads of texture, and lots of dimension...

 ~~~ 

We were pleased to see that the SPRING Darjeeling Collection was just the perfect blend of vintage and shabby!!

The Spring Darjeeling Collection comes in seven different colors.  This is Shabby Beige and it was a great seller at CHA!  It coordinates with so many new papers including Graphics 45, Bo Bunny, Pink Paislee, Glitz, IOD and many others!
