Well, the holiday season is upon us and I am loving all of the beautiful holiday crafts I have been seeing all over the internet. Today I am sharing with you a layout that I created about a family tradition that we started with our children when they were very small. Each Christmas Eve we sit down next to our tree and read Twas the Night Before Christmas. Everyone takes a turn and reads one page and then passes it to the next person. It's been a wonderful tradition and especially fun to watch the kids reading skills improve year after year.
Here are a couple of close up shots of the Petaloo flowers that I used on my layout. I loved the combination of the blue and reds in the Echo Park's Season's Greeting line so I combined the Petaloo's traditional Christmas Velvet Poinsettia flowers with the beautiful teal Mini Canterbury flowers.
A couple of extra tips when using flowers on your project is to stack and layer them with foam dots. Misting or spraying the flowers with inks and paints is also a lot of fun. On my layout I used Studio Calico's Mister Huey's in white.
I also like to include flourishes and small paper tickets or stickers in the flower stack. The dies that I used on my layout that created the flourishes are from The Memory Box.
I hope you are inspired by all of the wonderful holiday projects that you are seeing on the Petaloo blog this week. Merry Christmas from me and my family to yours!
Christine
