Hello Evereone, Lynn here to share with you how excited I was to receive my package this month with the oh so FUN papers from Jillibean Soup and the Dazzling Flowers from Petaloo! Jillibean's Christmas Eve Chowder, or "Chowda" as we say here in New England, is a bright, cheery, fun collection of papers perfect for Holiday projects! Then, add some Petaloo flowers to the mix and you can't go wrong! I created a layout using these fun papers and embellishments to highlight a photo of my girlfriend's daughter thoroughly enjoying a snowy day here in New England ...

The papers and embellishments highlight the photo perfectly and I'm always a sucker for Baker's Twine - in ANY color! I added some SnowTex, Stickles and Twinkling H20's to add sparkle. The Petaloo Dazzlers made great snowflakes and really added some dimension to the page ... (click on the photo for more detail)

I even used a larger Petaloo Dazzler Flower as the "O" in Snow ... The corrugated alpha is also a Jillibean FAV of mine ...

Hi everyone! This is such an exciting week with tons of inspirations using Petaloo and Jillibean Soup products! Today, it's my turn to share my projects. I've created two layouts for this event.

The first project is created using some gorgeous Petaloo flowers with the Hearty Barley line of Jillibean Soup. When I see these products in my box, I know that it calls for a sweet, loving layout. Here's what I came up with.

For my second layout, I've used the Christmas Eve Chowder line with some gorgeous Petaloo flowers. I've created a Christmas layout which consists of colors which are a little different from the usual.

Welcome to DAY ONE of the Jillibean and Petaloo Blog Week!

Okay Lisa, let the fun begin...

What a fun week!  Imagine my surprise when I opened my box and saw all of the fun and cheery product I got to play with!!! 

Jillibean's Christmas Eve Chowder screams "make cards with me...make cards....!!!"  Can you hear it?  Ssh...listen.....Yup, there it is!  This paper line is soooooo much fun.  Full of bright and cheery colors and fun images.

Look at that chubby little penguin!  Love him!  Petaloo's Jeweled Florettes are a perfect accent and are oh-so-stackable.

Say it with me... "candied poinsettias". :)  How awesome are they?! I gently bent the petals upwards and placed a color me crazy dahlia behind it to make it POP! mmm-mmm-mmmm!  Yummy!

BAM! Hearty Barley by Jillibean evokes images of a vintage 60's cabin.  I love the Kraft paper in this line. 

Christmas Eve Chowder and Hearty Barley...sounds like a great combo and it looks even better.  I mixed and matched these two lines to dress up my card.

I cut some flowers out of the Hearty Barley paper to use as a back drop for my Candied Poinsettia.  I plumped up my flower arrangement by adding some Devon Silk paper Flowers.  Ahhh, so fresh, crispy and snowy-feeling.

I hope these cards get you in the mood.  Most of all I hope they bring back that innocent and magical feel of the holiday season.  To you and yours....may you have the happiest and healthiest of holidays.

Thanksgiving Wishes

Hi everyone!!  Lisa here.  I don't know about you, but Thanksgiving is such a big day for celebrating family, friends and of course, food.  We go to my mother's house and there is never anything less than 25-30 people there for dinner.  It has always been like that. 

It's always a good time.  Me and my cousins are now grown with families of our own, so now our kids all play together.  The house is full of mouth watering scents, children's laughter, dogs running around and adults all chatting and laughing it up with no shortage of vino! 

This is a card I made for my mother.

I used a mix of Canterbury Naturals and Forget Me Nots along with a stem from a Canterbury Berry Spray.

I also added some Color Me Crazy Leaves.  I LOVE these!  They come in white and are made of different materials which gives you a lot of options for texture.  I misted mine with some Ranger Colorwash in Cranberry and then I used some Stickles to give them a little shimmer.  Perfect fall leaves in a snap!!!

Giving Thanks!

Hi Everyone, Lynn here to wish you all a safe and Happy Thanksgiving.  The preparations for all the Thanksgiving Festivities can be a crazy busy hectic time but it is also one of the best times to give thanks for all we have. My family and friends are dear to me beyond words and I'd be lost without them. I feel the same about my pets, especially my dog Simba. She is a 10 year old yellow lab who I've had the pleasure of knowing and loving for 9 years. I am giving Thanks for her as she is a huge part of my life. The photo of her in my layout is when she was younger and playing in the leaves. To accent my page I used lots of Petaloo flowers and leaves from the Darjeeling collection - PERFECT for fall projects. Here's my project with some close-ups ...

Thanksgiving Preparations.....

I have to say.....Thanksgiving is my FAVORITE holiday. It's a time of family, friends, FUN times and LOTS OF GREAT FOOD. For my family,
this is a time of tradition.....
 the re~creating of those amazing memories....Thanksgiving with my grandparents!!

I will be making my ususal....cranberry orange relish, New Orleans casserole, celery sticks with cream cheese and dates and an apple pie (what would the day be with out apple pie??) This year, I decided to up my contribution by creating table decorations........



These little beauties will grace each place setting and my wish is for everyone to write what they are thankful for on the back side of the place card, for all to see!!

I then turned to my thoughts to our food table. I thought this pumkin would just make a wonderful addition to all the scrumpdillyicious foods!!

Beautiful fall

Hi everybody! Helena here, sharing a layout about a beautiful fall-day with you. We moved to our house almost three years ago, and the best thing about living in a house is the garden! Our children loves playing out there, no matter what season.

I used gorgeous Color me Crazy flowers in brown and paprika, such lovely fall-colors. With these flowers you can build just about any flower you like. Perfect! I matched these flowers with a berry spray in burgundy. I formed it to look like a tree and then just spread out my flowers here and there.

 

To add that little extra, I put a few jewel centers, blue sapphire, on my page. They are so elegant and make a lovely contrast to the other flowers.

Autumn with Petaloo

Today we have a wonderful autumn posting from DT member Mireille Divjak in the Netherlands.

Enjoy all the beautiful & rich colors...

Wonderful, magnificent autumn with your beautiful colors. I love to walk outside and enjoy the palet nature creates for me. I love when it's still warm enough to not wear a jacket. On one of these days we went to an event where they were showing all kinds of birds to the audience. Noah really wanted to hold "Mr. Owl". He just melted my heart when he held up his hand.. a little nervous.. and said "Hi Mr. Owl... I am Noah". I knew I had to scrap these photo's.

I had a lot of fun mixing up these blooms. Large blooms and smaller blooms, color me crazy Vines ( I colored them with alcohol inks) and butterflies.
