I love creating mini books. I guess it's has something to do with being able to make them in different shapes and sizes and that it is easy to add fun "extras" like flowers, buttons, envelopes, etc. I will often make a couple standard 12x12 layouts with my pictures and then take the extra images and create a little mini book to set around the house.
Flowers are always a "must have" embellishment on any mini book. On each of these pages in my mini, I used Petaloo's Color Me Crazy Core-dinations flowers plus some Mulberry Street paper flowers to add color and interest.
On this page I used a Petaloo's Color Me Crazy flower in yellow as part of my journaling spot. Punch a circle out of any lined paper and glue it on top of the flower. With so many different shapes to choose from you can make cute decorated journaling spots in all sizes.
Adding buttons to flower centers has always been a favorite technique of mine. You can really add interest to any flowers by using different colored centers.
The back cover of my mini book is simply embellished with another of the Petaloo Color Me Crazy flower in yellow. I distressed the edges and folds of the petal to give it more texture and depth.
Thanks for joining me today. Have a wonderful day!
